The Northern Route Riders: 172 Miles, $33K Raised, and a Whole Lot of Heart
Share
At Singletracktees, we believe that the ride doesn’t end when the wheels stop spinning. It continues in the ripple effects — the lives touched, the causes supported, and the stories that inspire others to ride with purpose.
This month, we’re proud to spotlight a truly exceptional group of riders: the Northern Route crew from the Highground Heroes Ride.
Each year, this team of cyclists — ranging in age from 9 to 90 — gathers in Wisconsin to pedal 172 miles in just 2.5 days, traveling from Hayward to Neillsville. Their mission? To raise critical funds for The Highground, a veterans memorial park dedicated to healing, honor, and education for veterans and their families.
🚴♂️ In 2024, all routes raised $74K+ with some of that coming from a homegrown raffle they run out of a local Legion Hall. It’s become a cherished Saturday night tradition and a symbol of what community-powered fundraising looks like.
These are not just cyclists — they are trailblazers. Riders who use their strength, endurance, and heart to give back. And they remind us that impact doesn’t always look like a finish line — sometimes, it looks like a circle of riders gathered around a shared purpose.
We’re honored to support this ride and to count these incredible humans as part of the Singletracktees family.
